To allow Parish Councillors to declare a Disclosable Pecuniary, Other Pecuniary or Registerable Non-Pecuniary interest on any matters covered by this Agenda. Members are reminded that, when considering any item, if it becomes clear they have an interest they must declare it

  1. a) The Chairman to invite members of the public to indicate if they wish to speak at this meeting – either on an item on the agenda or on a general matter not on this agenda. You should indicate your wish to speak to the Clerk prior to the start of the meeting.

The public may raise matters or ask questions relating to the work of the Planning committee. Questions cannot always be answered at the meeting but they will be dealt with appropriately. If a matter raised or question asked is to be discussed by the Councillors, it will be added to the agenda for the next meeting of the Committee or passed to full Council.

To consider and approve the minutes of that meeting which have been circulated.

To receive a report from the Clerk and, if necessary, an oral update on current and outstanding issues dealt with by the Council.

Minutes of the meeting of the BURIAL GROUNDS COMMITTEE

Held on TUESDAY 4TH DECEMBER 2018 at 10.00AM

 In the COMMITTEE ROOM, VICTORY HALL, STANWAY

 

 

  1. Attendance and Apologies for Absence:

         There was one member of the public was present.

 

  1. Minutes of the Burial Ground Committee Meeting of 6th November 2018

          RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the Meeting of the 6th November 2018 be accepted as an accurate record.

 

  1. Clerk’s Report and Update

          There was no report from the Clerk’s Assistant but Cllr D Bloomfield reported on the following:

 

A resident has requested a full information pack for her parents.

 

A member of the Family of the deceased in C10 has donated £5.00 to sponsor an Oak sapling.

 

A memorial plaque for C6 has been paid for in full and can now be ordered from Hunnaballs.

 

  1.  Financial Report

         The Financial Report was not available.

 

  1. Maintenance Report

Cllr T Manning advised that two of the graves are starting to sink so he has raked them over and will add further

top soil in the next few weeks.

 

The shed and trellis are both up, the shed now housing the mowers and some tools donated by Cllr T Manning.

 

The new wheelbarrow has been purchased and Cllr t Manning has been visiting every day to clear the fallen leaves. On one of the days there were two representatives from Co-Op Funerals looking at the site.

 

All of the trees are in good condition and there are still plenty of rabbits around.

 

The apex of the memorial shelter needs to be scraped and re-painted. The Clerk’s Assistant will ask Barry the Maintenance Worker to action as soon as possible.

 

  1. Maintenance of Existing Graves and Ashes Plots

         Mr C Lax had nothing to report.

 

Cllr D Bloomfield advised that the last grave marker was now in place.

 

 

  1. Shed or Storage Area for the Burial Ground Site

         Cllr D Bloomfield requested  that this item now be removed from Future Agenda’s.

 

  1. Items for Committees/ Next Council Meeting

There were no items.

 

  1. Date and Time of Next Meeting

         The next Meeting of the Burial Grounds Committee will take place on Tuesday, 5th February 2019

         at 10.00 am in the Committee Room, Victory Hall.

 

The Chairman thanked everyone for attending and the Meeting closed at 10.09 am.
